Enterprise skills: what they are and why you need them

To land your dream job (and then succeed at it) you need more than just a degree or qualifications.

Employers expect a whole set of other tangible skills that compliment your degree! These are called enterprise skills, and they include skills such as leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, collaboration, critical thinking and more.

For our third genYOU inspire session we will be welcoming three awesome industry speakers who will each talk about a key enterprise skill you need to succeed at work including; why you need it, how to be better at it and the tools to help you get there.

FAQs

Who is generationYOU?

Over the past 3 years, generationYOU has created a thriving community of millennials: students, graduates, young professionals, school leavers and dreamers, with one thing in common >> a strong desire to unleash their potential at work (and in life)!

Our role is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge from the experienced (think managers, mentors and entrepreneurs) with Australia’s youth.

We do this through original content, events & conferences, an online digital program and also a hands-on training program. The focus is on employability, entrepreneurship, skills development and career management which will not only benefit young adults themselves, but also their employers and communities.

So what is genYOU Inspire?

Proudly supported by Brisbane City Council, genYOU Inspire is a series of 5 short events that bring together local legends with a single goal – to help Brisbane’s young people unleash their potential at work and in life!

Can I still attend if I'm not a student, recent graduate or millennial?

Whilst our genYOU Inspire series has been specifically designed for millennials (17 – 25), we welcome all attendees who don’t necessarily fall into that category! If you are not quite sure if genYOU Inspire is right for you, or are thinking about sending a group of attendees to our events, please drop us a line on hello@generationyou.com.au and we will be happy to help you out.

Our genYOU Inspire events are free! We want to give Brisbane’s young people the best opportunity to stand out of the crowd and unleash their potential!

What else is included in the sessions?

If you arrive at the beginning of our events (5.30pm), you will be treated to nibbles and the opportunity to meet other attendees! Throughout our sessions we also facilitate structured networking.

I can't make it for the whole session, can I still come?

Absolutely. Whilst we would love for you to join us for the whole session, we understand that sometimes you have commitments that just can’t move. You will be able to arrive late to a session and leave early.

I registered for a session but can no longer make it, what do I do?

Oh man! We would’ve loved for you to attend, but we understand. As we do have a limit on attendees, if you could let us know as soon as possible that you can no longer make it – we can register the next person on the waiting list!
