Could you tell us a bit about yourself and where you are headed in your career right now?

I recently graduated from Flinders University in 2016 and I am currently working as a Graduate Finance Officer in the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. Being a lifelong learner, I am pursuing a CPA program and aim to be an inspiring leader in the future.

How has or how is generationYOU helping you achieve your goals?

My generationYOU experience was extraordinary. The speakers were amazing and the event itself was very well organised. It was good to hear from leading professionals from different areas at the genYOU event.

From the experience, I have learnt to carry out my professional life with a different approach. One of the speakers talked about pushing our boundaries and realising our true potential. Although I am yet to reach my goal of becoming a leader, the generationYOU event has provided me with the essential reinforcement required for my entire career path. I would definitely recommend my peers to get involved with the organisation!

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

My biggest inspirations have been and still are my parents. Even after being active professionals in their respective fields, they have always found a balance between work and family. It always amazes me how they do it!

What is the one piece of advice you would love to share with your millennial peers as you reflect on your own journey?

My one advice for my peers would be: every challenge presents itself with an opportunity to learn or improve. Recognise the problem, accept it, make it right and move on. To be a great leader, you have to be bigger than the problems.
